School Day Start-Time Changes for 2022-23

At the June 13th Regular Meeting of the Mead School District School Board of Directors, the Board approved changes to the school start times for 2022-23. It is important to note that the school day, as compared to the past year, will start 10 minutes earlier on M, T, Th and Fri., and start 40 mins later on Wednesdays. School Meals for 2022-23

The current United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) waiver that has allowed school districts to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students is set to expire at the end of this school year. This means that for the 2022-23 school year we will be transitioning back to regular prices for school meals, with free/reduced price meals for qualified families. Read more...

Scholastic Book Fair

We are hosting an upcoming book fair to benefit our Mead Learning Options Library beginning April 29! Please support this event. Purchases will benefit all of the Mead Learning Options programs and enable us to purchase new books and resources for our library. Click for more details.

Trades Night

NEDAwareness Week Resources

National Eating Disorder Awareness Week (NEDAwareness Week) is an annual campaign to educate the public about the realities of eating disorders and to provide hope, support, and visibility to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. NEDAwareness Week 2022 takes place during the week of February 21 - February 27, 2022.

Hi-Cap Nomination Period Open Feb. 14-25

Each year, in accordance with RCW 28A.185.030, school districts across Washington are required to implement procedures for the nomination, assessment, and selection of students for highly-capable designation.  Nominations may be received for any K-12 student from teachers, other staff, parents, students, and members of the community.

Congratulations to Jennie Cochran, Five Mile Prairie art teacher, on winning an award and grant from California Casualty Home and Auto Insurance!


Families, due to the weather last week, we had to reschedule the retake day. The new day is tomorrow, November 23. FMP elementary students may go to PLC Building between 11 AM - 12 PM for retakes.
